Go the Wuchopperen Warriors!

Heart diseases are a major contributing factor in the disparity of life expectancy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Wuchopperen Health Service is committed to making a difference by raising the importance of cardiac care. The Wuchopperen Warriors are once again up for the 2019 Cardiac Challenge. Last year the Wuchopperen Warriors returned home with sore muscles and huge smiles following the 327km cycle from Cairns to Cooktown for the 2018 Cardiac Challenge. The annual Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation event sees teams ride the gruelling track to raise money for the Cairns Hospital’s Cardiac Unit. The team was founded in 2015 and have competed in the event three times before, with this year a key highlight for many in the team.

The Cardiac Challenge is a 327km cycle ride from Cairns to Cooktown and LOGIQC is proud 2019 sponsor of the Wuchopperen Warriors team for the event.
