At Logiqc, we are committed to keeping our clients informed and ahead of industry changes. As part of our ongoing efforts to provide up-to-date resources, we are pleased to announce that the latest evidence reports for several updated standards are now available on the Logiqc Accreditation Register.
Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards – 2025
The Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards are set to come into full effect on 1 July 2025, coinciding with the commencement of the new Aged Care Act 2024. These standards are part of the Australian Government’s broader aged care reforms, driven by the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. These revised standards focus on improving outcomes for older Australians receiving aged care services.
The new standards aim to ensure that aged care services meet higher expectations in areas such as consumer rights, ongoing care, and workforce training. While the current 2019 Aged Care Quality Standards remain in effect until July 2025, service providers are encouraged to start preparing for the transition. The Australian Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) is developing a suite of resources available on their website to assist in the transition.
Better Care, Better Services Standards 2017 (WA Government)
The Better Care, Better Services Standards are a set of guidelines aimed at promoting the safety and well-being of children and young people in out-of-home care in Western Australia. The 2017 version updates the original 2006 standards, providing an accountability framework for service providers.
These standards cover key areas such as child protection, wellbeing, and the quality of services for young people in care. The updated guidance resources, published in 2022, ensure that service providers are well-equipped to deliver the highest level of care.
National Clinical Trials Governance Framework (NCTGF)
The National Clinical Trials Governance Framework (NCTGF) is a significant step toward standardising the governance of clinical trials across Australia. Developed by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC), this framework ensures that clinical trials are conducted in a safe and high-quality manner, enhancing patient outcomes.
Logiqc’s accreditation register can support organisations in preparing for short-notice accreditation assessments, implemented in July 2023, by ensuring continuous compliance.
National Safety and Quality Mental Health Standards (NSQMH) – 2022 for Community Managed Organisations (CMOs)
Released in November 2022, the National Safety and Quality Mental Health Standards for Community Managed Organisations (CMOs) aim to enhance service delivery in the mental health sector. These standards are designed to cater specifically to the unique needs of community-managed organisations, which offer a range of services including psychosocial rehabilitation, helplines, and peer support.
National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards – 2021
Launched in October 2021, the National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards aim to improve the safety and quality of healthcare services delivered in community settings. These standards are critical for primary healthcare providers as they offer practical guidance on implementing essential quality and safety measures.
The ACSQHC has published a comprehensive guide for healthcare services to support the implementation of these standards. Available for download, the guide offers clear instructions and examples of evidence to help healthcare services meet the standards' requirements.
National Safety and Quality Cosmetic Surgery Standards – 2023
The newly launched National Safety and Quality Cosmetic Surgery Standards (2023) address increasing concerns over patient safety in the cosmetic surgery industry. With a focus on patient care and safety, these standards offer a consistent framework for cosmetic surgery facilities across Australia.
Set to become a requirement in early 2025, these standards represent a major step forward in raising the quality of care in the cosmetic surgery sector. They include detailed provisions for facilities performing cosmetic surgeries to ensure consistent, high-quality clinical practices.
Revised Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) – 2025
The Revised Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2025 will take full regulatory effect from 1 July 2025. Released in October 2024, these revised standards outline the core requirements for RTOs to ensure that vocational education and training is delivered effectively and meets national quality benchmarks.
The existing 2015 RTO Standards remain in effect until July 2025, but RTOs are encouraged to begin familiarising themselves with the revised standards to ensure a smooth transition.
These updated standards are critical for organisations and Logiqc remains at the forefront, offering valuable tools and resources to ensure ongoing compliance. As regulatory changes continue to shape the Australian landscape, we are dedicated to providing our clients with the latest information and support for successful accreditation.
